Guest presenter, Brooke Noah will be here to inspire us with her first-hand experience of homesteading.
Homesteading is an increasingly trendy term that can be defined in many ways. Some of the activities that are often associated with a homesteading lifestyle include: Growing food. Increased self sufficiency. Cooking from scratch. Raising animals. Shopping local. Making things with your hands.
This class will focus on how to replace grocery store staples, from bread to protein to vegetables and everything in between. We will spend significant time discussing growing and preserving methods for fruits and vegetables.
- Attendees should bring a quart sized container to practice one food preservation method: quick pickling!
- Light nibbles will be provided along with a complimentary glass of wine or sparkling water.
Brooke comes from generations of gardeners, food preservers, farmers, and from-scratch cooks. She credits her family for instilling in her a passion for all things homemade. Brooke and her husband define homesteading like this: A lifestyle with self sufficiency; produce & create instead of consume, consume, consume.
